Manchester School of Art is set to host a free live-streamed music festival taking place Friday 25th to Saturday 26th of June.

Art School Live returns this weekend with a live-streamed music festival showcasing Manchester and the North West’s best new musical talents.

The festival will include performances from Dream English Kid, Hyperdawn, Caolifihonn Rose and Natalie McCool.

Art School-Live hosted several virtual live streams on YouTube last year, but due to Covid-19 restrictions, the series was cut short. Now one year on, staff and students have collaborated to create an exciting festival covering genres from “mellow folk to epic pop-rock”.

Art School Live Festival co-director, Sam Heitzman, said: “It seems fitting that this two-day event is both a lockdown product and a post-lockdown celebration of musical talent. We are very happy to be back!”

The invaluable experience of producing the Art School Live Festival is a part of the Manchester Metropolitan RISE programme, which is designed to enhance students’ CVs and university experience. Manchester Met students are undertaking all of the marketing and technical roles for the festival, overseen by experienced staff.

Evan Wilson, fellow co-director of Art School Live, added: “This is an exciting moment in the history of Art School Live. The event has been able to grow exponentially thanks to some ambitious thinking and the involvement of the student team.”

The event will showcase high-quality video promotion for the performers, who have been paired up with visual artists and graphic designers to exhibit their work.

The free event will be hosted 6-9 pm each day and available on Friday 25 June at Art School Live Festival – Day 1 and Saturday 26 June at Art School Live Festival – Day 2.
