The UK’s leading independent festival Sound City is returning to Liverpool in less than 3 months. It boasts three days of innovative musical performances which will take place in the Baltic Triangle, the epicentre of culture in Liverpool. The festival will take place from the 1st of May to the 3rd of May this year.

For almost twelve years, Liverpool Sound City has been hosting up and coming international artists in various Liverpool venues around the city centre. In 2015 the festival organisers decided to base the festival at the iconic Albert Dock.

However, two years ago the festival returned to its roots – the Baltic Triangle. During previous years, festival-goers have had the chance to see groundbreaking artists such as The VaccinesFlorence and the Machine, and even festival-favourites The Kooks. Last year was another successful year and the energy was captured in a video, proving it is an unmissable event.

Apart from enjoying your known favourite artists, there will be a chance to discover some emerging talent too! The 2020 line-up showcases more than 120 local, national and even international musicians.

Pale Waves and Friendly Fires steal the headline slots, ready to leave their mark on the birthplace of The Beatles. In addition to these big names, the line-up also features post-modern rockin’ rollers, The Blinders; ever-so covertly melancholic Marika Hackman and indie legends Spector.

You’ll find everything you could ever want, from the alternative indie-rock bands to psychedelia, there’s a band for you.

Have a listen to the official Sound City Spotify playlist to decide who to see live. As the organisers say: “Anybody who visits Sound City leaves with a deeper understanding of the musical histories of the past, present and future.”

Don’t just take their word for it, purchase your tickets here so you can hear it for yourself.
