A 17-year-old boy was stabbed on a 142 Magic Bus by a knifeman wearing a balaclava.

It is reported that the event happened approximately around 4:00 pm on Tuesday 15th of October on Wilslow Road, near the junction of Claremont Road.

Greater Manchester Police are treating it as an isolated incident, that they believe it not to be “any threat to the wider public”. No arrests have been made so far.

Manchester Evening News (MEN) reported that police “rushed to the scene”, evacuated the Stagecoach bus and closed off Curry Mile. The road has since been reopened.

Greater Manchester Police have released the following statement:

“Police were called to reports of a stabbing on a bus on Wilmslow Road, Manchester shortly after 4 pm today (Tuesday 15 October 2019).”

“A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. Enquiries are ongoing.”
