Lucy Yeomans, former Editor-in-Chief for Harper’s Bazaar UK, is the wonderful mind behind the latest up-and-coming fashion styling game, Drest.

Set to officially launch on Tuesday 8th October, Drest claims to allow you access to new season collections and sets you challenges sponsored by the likes of Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Prada. You will also have access to look books created by the app’s very own stylists to inspire your creations. Among the tasks set, you’ll be asked to create looks for the MET Gala Ball and style fashion icons. You also get a regularly updated fashion newsfeed to inspire looks and help you express yourself through virtual fashion.

As well as becoming a top fashion stylist, tasks such as styling photoshoots and creating mood boards will be regularly set to you. Once looks are completed, they will be uploaded to the Drest homepage where other users vote on your creations and decide whether they’re fashion forward or not.

Drest will also offer a variety of ‘size-inclusive’ and diverse avatars making it easier to style looks for the everyday person as well as runway models. And thanks to a clever partnership with Farfetch, you can also make in-app purchases and buy the looks you’ve styled.

Although the app is free to download, there will be also opportunities to pay real money for added bonuses within the game, such as exclusive items.  All users begin with 15,000 ‘Drest Dollars’ that can be spent on clothes, accessories and makeup but additional $5000 bundles will be available to buy for £3.99.

As there is already a long waitlist for Drest, not everyone that has signed up will gain immediate access. According to the information posted on the app store, downloading the app puts you on the ‘early access waitlist’. They plan on letting new people in everyday and say that people will be able to access the app as soon as possible. When Drest has been opened up to you, you’ll receive a notification to enter the world of styling.
