Last year, some of the biggest names in music toured the UK. From global superstars Taylor Swift and Beyonce to breakthrough artists like Chappell Roan and The Last Dinner Party, we saw the revival of strong female pop icons in the music industry. And at a time when women are still not headlining festivals, getting equal pay or being taken seriously, it’s much needed.

According to the Musician’s Union, 51% of women in music have been discriminated against due to their gender. This staggering statistic shows that the music industry must make changes and honour female musicians in the same way that their male counterparts are.

In light of this, which female stars can we expect to see smashing the UK music scene in 2025?

Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey is returning to the UK this summer to embark on her first ever stadium tour. The singer-songwriter, who previously performed at Reading and Leeds Festival 2024 and Glastonbury in 2023, will kick off her tour on 23 June in Cardiff. Del Rey will then take her tour to Glasgow, Liverpool and Dublin, finishing her UK stint with two sold-out shows at Wembley.

The American musician is also set to release her upcoming album The Right Person Will Stay on 21 May, just before embarking on her European tour. The ‘Summertime Sadness’ singer will no doubt bring ethereal storytelling, distinctive vocals, and old Hollywood charm to her stadium tour. But the question is, will the singer be belting out new material or classic hits? Lana may have a reputation for being late, but she is certainly worth the wait.

Tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster, Live Nation and See Tickets, subject to availability.

Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter has had an astounding career with smash hits ‘Espresso’, ‘Please, Please, Please’, and ‘Taste’ all reaching number 1 on the UK singles chart. The singer and actress is returning with ‘The Short N’ Sweet Tour’ for her first arena tour in the UK, commencing this March. Carpenter made history last year as she became the first artist in 71 years to spend over 20 weeks at number 1 on the Official Singles Chart – the last and only artist to achieve such a feat being American crooner Frankie Laine.

Carpenter’s catchy and innuendo-ridden bubblegum pop songs ‘Juno’ and ‘Bed Chem’ stand out on tour as the performer dances in a life-sized dollhouse and arrests members of the audience. Carpenter will perform sold-out shows in Dublin, Birmingham, Glasgow and Manchester before rounding off the UK leg of the tour with two nights at London’s o2 Arena.

The ‘Short N’ Sweet Tour’ certainly won’t be one to miss. Future tickets may become available via Ticketmaster waitlist.

From singing bedroom-pop melodies in small venues to performing sold-out arena shows across the UK, Gracie Abrams has had quite a remarkable career. The American singer-songwriter, who gained an even larger following after supporting Taylor Swift on the US leg of ‘The Eras Tour, released her most recent album The Secret of Us back in June.

The track ‘That’s So True’ from the deluxe version of the album earned Abrams her first UK number 1, with the song’s sharp-edged lyrics and spritely rhythm proving popular amongst fans. After touring her homeland, Abrams will bringThe Secret of Us Tour’ to cities up and down the UK, from Glasgow to London, this March.

Resale tickets may become available to purchase via Ticketmaster and AXS.

No breakthrough artist or newbie to music, Alanis Morissette is a Grammy-winning musician who gained success in the 90s with her critically-acclaimed album Jagged Little Pill which featured hits ‘You Oughta Know’ and ‘Hand In My Pocket’ that changed the alt-rock landscape for women.

The Canadian singer will embark on her European tour this summer with an array of arena and festival appearances in the UK. Morissette previously toured the UK in 2022 on her ‘Jagged Little Pill 25th Anniversary Tour.’ The ‘Ironic’ singer will return in June, beginning in Dublin before heading to Belfast, Cardiff and Glasgow, and headlining Lytham Festival in July.

Tickets are available to purchase via Ticketmaster, with VIP options for some events.

Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Rodrigo transformed from Disney star to Grammy Award-winning musician with her chart-topping debut album SOUR, gaining worldwide critical acclaim. The Gen Z superstar, whose smash hit ‘Driver’s License’ was certified four times platinum, is returning to the UK this summer to continue her ‘GUTS World Tour.’

Olivia Rodrigo will take the stage this June in Dublin, before headlining BTS Hyde Park in London with special guests The Last Dinner Party and Girl in Red. Rodrigo will then perform two sold-out shows at Manchester’s Co-op Live, which were postponed last year due to technical delays in the venue’s development.

Rodrigo is adored for her relatable lyrics and her ability to eloquently depict the nuances of teenage girlhood and heartbreak. The singer’s pop-rock melodies and jarring coming-of-age truths are quick-witted yet vulnerable, this theme continuing in her latest release GUTS, with undoubtedly more edge.

Tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster, subject to availability.
