London-born stand-up comedian, Dane Baptiste, returns to Manchester for a night of laughter at Salford’s Lowry Theatre. Baptiste had breakout success in 2014 after being nominated for ‘Best Newcomer’ at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Since then, Baptise has been starring in his very own BBC sitcom series titled ‘Sunny D’, selling out live performances and is now touring his brand new show ‘The Chocolate Chip’.
His latest performance has been described by The Independent as “Observational comedy at its finest” and is highly anticipated in the world of comedy. Baptiste’s ‘The Chocolate Chip’ addresses topics such as race, politics and mental health in an original and alluring manner.
“Normally if you make any comments about racial inequality or economic inequality people will say you have a chip on your shoulder,” Dane Baptiste says.
“So I’m embracing that chip and calling it Chocolate Chip.”
For a taste of what’s in store, you can check out his podcast, ‘Dane Baptiste Questions Everything’ for his observational and witty commentary on everyday life, which can be found on all major streaming services.
Baptiste stars his tour in Reading later this month before hitting Salford in late March. Tickets can be purchased here.
