Factory 256 has had its license reinstated pending on an additional 12 conditions put in place by Manchester City Council.
The Princess Street nightclub had its licence revoked following attacks on Manchester University students Joe Sharratt and Leon Cooper in early December by door staff.

The video, posted by Twitter user DontFollowStu went viral back in December, leading to the door staff’s arrests. So far, seven individuals have been arrested on various charges including violent assault, Section 47 assault and Section 20 assault.
Carmine Grimshaw, committee chair, stated the committee does not feel revoking Factory’s licence would be appropriate or proportionate.
Factory appealed to reopen for New Year’s Eve however this was blocked by Greater Manchester Police who requested that Factory should not reopen until after the festive period.
The 12 conditions factory must meet include reduced opening hours, shutting at 3:30 am, Sunday-Thursday, and 4:30 am Friday and Saturday. All door staff must wear body cameras and high-vis uniform, and there must be a ratio of one door staff member for every 75 people.
Factory will have to adhere to a new training regulations where all door staff will be documented and recorded, and will have a duty of care document that will ensure that all staff will know and understand procedures for dealing with intoxicated or vulnerable customers.
The manager on duty will also have their contact details listed publicly available at all times, and all crimes must be reported immediately to the police.
