This year’s theme is ‘Waste Not Want Not’, and Manchester Met will be bringing you the best tips to reduce your household and food waste, as well as to save money!
Waste drains resources and can lead to environmental problems, economic issues, and even health issues amongst people. Did you know that the average UK family wastes an average of £60 a month by chucking one meal a day in the bin?
During Money Week, our Student Financial Support team will host a series pop-up stands across campus, which will include waste guessing game and prize draw – you could be in with a chance of winning a £50 Amazon voucher for your efforts. There will also be lots of free recipes, tasty treats and information about what services and support is available students.
We also have an event in the Business School on Tuesday 7 February which will include stands from MetMUnch, Pop Swap, The Student Union’s Advice Centre, OLIO and Give It Don’t Bin It. There will be a range of activities on offer and you can learn about recycling, donating, budgeting, growing your own food and making the most of what you have.
