The murder of Meredith Kercher in the town of Perugia, Italy, in 2007 attracted the attention of the world’s media. Amanda Knox, and her then boyfriend Rafaelle Sollecito, have since been found guilty of the murder twice, and have also been acquitted twice. In this documentary, Knox, Sollecito, and prominent figures of the investigation tell their own stories of the night Meredith was murdered and the investigation that followed. It is revealing, yet sometimes confusing. It will leave you to draw your own opinions of where the guilt lies in this famous case.
Luke Cage
After the huge popularity and critical acclaim of Marvel’s latest installations to Netflix, Daredevil and Jessica Jones, this time it is Jessica Jones character Luke Cage’s turn to get his own series. As Luke tries to overcome the traumatic events of his past and his association with Jessica Jones, he must also try to keep the streets of Harlem safe from gangs, drug cartels and their powerful leaders. However, he has an advantage, he is literally unbreakable.
Note: It is recommended that viewers watch Jessica Jones first, as Luke Cage follows directly on from it.
Zombieland
Need a bit of comic relief this Halloween? Zombieland, starring Emma Stone and Jesse Eisenberg, is on the funny side of horror movies. From breaking into Bill Murray’s house, to one man’s mission to find the last Twinky in America, you’ll be laughing your way through reading week.
World War Z
Based on the popular book by Max Brooks, World War Z follows Gerry Lane (Brad Pitt) in a desperate attempt to save his family from the sudden zombie outbreak. Fans of The Walking Dead will love this.
To Kill A Mockingbird
In the mood for a classic? To Kill A Mockingbird, based on the famous novel by Harper Lee, is told through the eyes of Scout, a little girl who completely admires her father. When lawyer Atticus Finch is asked to defend a black man accused of rape, Scout’s understanding, imagination and simple childhood naivety enlightens the audience in the brutality, distrust and racial abuse black Americans received in the 1930s Deep South.
