This week AMC Cinemas will begin their month of Horror Film double bills starting with Dusk till Dawn and the original Evil Dead. Two classic horror movies will be shown back to back each week on Saturday and Sunday nights, focusing on a loose theme each time, from classic Dracula, to Stephen King adaptations.
Saturday will firstly see the black comedy horror Dusk till Dawn, created by critically acclaimed director Robert Rodriguez (Planet Terror, Sin City, Machete) and written by none other than Quentin Tarantino (Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction, The Hateful Eight). It follows two brothers on the run from the police attempting to make it across the Mexican border. However things take a turn for the worse when at an isolated strip club, the two are attacked by beings of the supernatural nature.
It’s followed by what’s often cited as the first and greatest cult horror movie, the Evil Dead. With thousands of ‘Deadites’ across the world, The Evil Dead went on to become one of the most influential horror films of all time, spawning two direct sequels, a remake and a TV series. The supernatural horror follows five college students who vacation to a cabin in the middle of the woods. But when they discover “The Book of the Dead” within their cabin, they accidentally summon evil spirits capable of possessing the living, and much more.
Tickets for each weeks movies will be available for £12 on either of the nights or £10 if pre-ordered before. The double bills kick off at 7.30pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
