1. Notting Hill (1999) 

    In this unlikely love story, we see love blossom between a Notting Hill bookshop owner played by Hugh Grant and a world-famous actress by Julia Roberts. The film looks at the complexity of their unconventional relationship due to their incomparable lives.

    2. Call Me by Your Name (2017) 

      Timothée Chalamet perfects the role of Elio, a 17-year-old boy struggling to come to terms with his sexuality during a stay at his stunning family home in Italy. His desires are altered as he meets Oliver, his dad’s summer internship working at the family home. Through flawless cinematography, the film captures the story of love. Remember to have your tissues ready for this one! 

      3. 10 Things I Hate About You (1999) 

        10 Things I hate About You is a coming-of-age film that takes inspiration from William Shakespeare’s play ‘The Taming of The Shrew’. In Heath Ledger’s breakthrough film, he plays the role of a mysterious high school student that is bribed to date fierce schoolgirl Kat. The film immaculately captures the rebellious behavior and emotions that come with being a teenager. Kat’s reveals her true feelings in a raw, powerful scene that illustrates the complications of young love.

          This film title leaves nothing to the imagination; this is a film about Valentine’s Day! With one of the most star-studded casts, you will be shocked to see some of these famous faces. From Anne Hathaway to Taylor Swift, follow the complicated and hilarious lives of different characters on Valentine’s Day.

            If you like cheesy love stories, then this one is for you! Emily in Paris star Lucien Laviscount plays the role of Quinn who meets his birthday twin Minnie. However, Minnie is bitter in their meeting as she blames Quinn for her unlucky and comical life. Released just last year, this wholesome modern love story is one not to be missed. 

            6. Bridget Jones’s Diary (2001) 

              Based on the 1996 novel by Helen Fielding, frazzled Bridget tries to control her constant life issues in her diary. Bridget’s chaotic life reveals the challenges of womanhood in a humorous way. Bridget finds herself in the middle of an awkward love triangle with womaniser Daniel and principled Mark Darcy, played by Hugh Grant and Colin Firth.               7. Pretty Woman (1990) 

              Once again, we see Julia Roberts grace our screens in Pretty Woman as she expertly embodies the role of Vivian, a prostitute hired by businessman Edward to accompany him on a business trip. As you can probably guess, the pair fall for each other despite their contrasting lives. Although the storyline breaks traditional love story conventions, it’s a huge hit and is considered a classic in the rom-com genre.

              8. The Notebook (2004) 

              Valentine’s day would not be complete without this classic love story! If you haven’t already watched The Notebook, then where have you been? The tender storyline captures the love of Allie and Noah played by Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling as they navigate their relationship through the strong 1940’s class divide. Brace yourself as this one is an emotional roller-coaster.

              9. Crazy Rich Asians (2018) 

              Based on the global bestselling novel, this romantic comedy brings glitz and glamour to the big screen. Rachel discovers her long-term boyfriend has been keeping a secret from her as they travel to Singapore for his best friend’s wedding. Rachel uncovers his lavish lifestyle and must impress his family to save their relationship. 

              10. Your Place or Mine (2023) 

              Best friends Peter and Debbie swap houses to bring some fun into their lives. Peter comes to the realisation he is in love with Debbie as he becomes jealous when Debbie begins to date someone on the opposite side of the US coast. Can this pair go from friends to lovers?
