One of Manchester’s most iconic pubs has reopened following a huge £1 million transformation as The Grosvenor. Situated on Grosvenor Street, the building has been standing for 111 years – it has previously been a theatre, a cinema, a snooker hall, a brewery and, most recently, popular student pub, The Footage.
After receiving a £1 million makeover, the pub has been reimagined to offer an immersive experience, now billing itself as “the ultimate adult playground.” The revamped pub showcases a distinctive layout spread across two floors, with decor that creatively nods to its eclectic past.
Guests entering the space are greeted by vibrant fixtures, including a pink ball pit complete with an inflatable flamingo, a playful Instagrammable neon sign, and quirky features like carousel horses. The main floor is punctuated by hot pink pool tables, beer pong setups, and a photo booth, all tailored for guests to unwind and celebrate in style.
Upstairs, visitors will find remnants of the building’s cinematic heritage, from a cosy “Peep Show” alcove to tables crafted from recycled cinema seats. A sprawling floral mural adds to the lively ambiance, honouring both the history and playful spirit that define The Grosvenor.
The venue has curated weekly line up of events including live music and food and drink specials. Every Monday from 8.30pm they will host the Big Fat Monday Quiz, which is free to enter with cash prizes for the winning team. The quiz can be enjoyed with the Monday exclusive £10 burger and beer deal.
Balls to Tuesday boasts free pool and beer pong all day, and a 2-4-1 deal on selected beers. Wednesday’s see the resident DJ play your favourite floor fillers at Free to Dance, with 2-4-1 on pizza and drinks deals flowing all night. Thursday tempts you with an After-work Social with half price on wine, prosecco and bottles of beer from 4-7pm, accompanied by acoustic music from 6pm.
Fridays and Saturdays see the venue host its club nights. Sonic Sauce on a Friday is a free entry club night, playing your favourite funk and disco jams. Edit on a Saturday will host a special guest DJ every week, with tickets available in advance for £5.
The Grosvenor will also be hosting a themed £35 bottomless brunch every other Saturday from 3-5pm, with a glass of prosecco topped with candy floss on arrival followed by 90 minutes of bottomless drinks to enjoy. You can choose from burgers, salads or pizza to accompany your drinks.
Sundays make use of the huge five-metre screen for Sunday Super Sport, which will be showing all of your favourite sporting events from F1, NFL, Premier League and more.
They have also launched their own rewards card called the G-Card, and upon downloading the app you will be rewarded with a £1 drinks voucher. You will also receive a special birthday deal, and a variety of exclusive offers on food and drink.
The Grosvenor is located on 137 Grosvenor Street, Manchester, M1 7DZ. They are open from 12pm-12am throughout the week, and until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.
