Great news for Manchester’s Harry Potter fans as Manchester Arena announces they will be showing Harry Potter: The Philosopher’s Stone, the film of the first book in JK Rowling’s bestselling series, on a 40-foot HD screen while a symphony orchestra plays the score.

The screening is part of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series, which was launched by Warner Bros and CineConcerts in the US in June and will tour the UK in 2017. Other locations include London Royal Albert Hall, Liverpool Echo Arena, and Glasgow Secc Hydro Arena.

CineConcerts President Justin Freer said: “The Harry Potter film series is one of those once-in-a-lifetime cultural phenomena that continues to delight millions of fans around the world.

“It is with great pleasure that we introduce, for the first time ever, an opportunity to experience the award-winning music scores played live by a symphony orchestra, all while the beloved film is simultaneously projected onto the big screen. It will be an unforgettable event.”

Tickets will be priced from £25-65 and will go on sale on Wednesday, August 24th through Ticketmaster. There will also be a pre-sale which will start Monday, August 22nd. The Manchester date is set for May 16th, 2017.
