Avis Magazine – Call For Submissions

0 183

Avis Magazine is looking for illustration and photography submissions for their second issue. Run by students on Manchester Metropolitan University’s MA Creative Writing programme, they are seeking artwork from emerging artists to compliment creative writing submissions on the theme of migration.

Dan Formby, Keith Hutson, James Hodgson and Bridget Taylor collectively make up the Avis Editorial Team. They are all creative writing enthusiasts from Manchester Met and their main aim is to help new and emerging writers get to grips with the world of literature alongside their studies.

Bridget Taylor, Poetry Editor said, “We are keen to support new and emerging artists, especially MMU students, so if you’ve never submitted to a magazine before – go for it! We’d love to hear from you. This is a great opportunity to get your name out there, and would make a great addition to a portfolio.

“The theme of this issue is migration: the movement of things, bodies, people, ideas across geographies big and small, wide and minor. Across borders and boundaries; fences, walls, lines in the sand. Think comets through the cosmos and piercings through the skin.

Avis are looking for black and white illustration and photography on the theme. If successful your work will be published in a print version of the magazine.

For more details on submission check out the Avis Magazine website: The deadline for illustrations and photography is 31st December.
