Wrapped in Black Parchment

0 236

By Atika Baji

Wrapped in black parchment

So old and tormented

That held secrets of mystery and pain

Bound tightly by a chain

That warned me away.

I came closer and closer

It got harder and harder

The burn was too strong to bare

In the end I tore it open

Revealed the secret inside

A heart so soft, it was scarlet red

Raw, but so beautiful

Came from it a scent of musk so sweet

The dark outside didn’t make me retreat
