Opening the night, Gabrielle eases the Co-op Live crowd into the spectacular night ahead. There’s no need for spectacle, her presence alone is enough with her deep vocals echoing around the arena. A performance rooted in control and feeling, each song reveals a different shade of her understated command.

Operating in a sweet spot between nostalgia and immediacy, Gabrielle delivers a set that feels both reflective and refreshingly present. She floats across the stage with minimal fuss, letting the songs do the heavy lifting, while the small details – a glance, a smile, and moments of stillness – carry the weight. There’s a calm intensity to it, her vocals tied with the band and backing singers cutting cleanly through the space as she forges connections with her audience not to be forgotten.

Taking to the stage with a confidence that feels both seasoned and effortless, Rick Astley commands the room from the very first note. At one point, he leaves the stage to pose for the cameras, which he cheekily points out to the 30,000+ concertgoers. The opening sets the tone for what follows, each sequence revealing different facets of the performance. There’s movement, charisma, and a clear connection with the crowd that builds frame by frame.

Much like a high-energy support act staking their claim, Astley leans into the moment with intensity. He moves confidently and freely across the stage, shifting between poised control and bursts of energy, his expressions caught mid-lyric, mid-gesture.

As the set unfolds, there’s a clear sense that Astley is enjoying being the first act to headline the Co-op Live twice. Between songs, he shares charming smiles with the crowd and his band, embracing the scale of the moment without losing that personal touch.

His backing singers add depth and richness, their harmonies lifting the choruses and giving the performance a fuller, more dynamic feel, while the backing band provides a tight, polished foundation that keeps everything driving forward. Together, they create a sound that feels entirely collective.
