If any of Manchester Metropolitan University’s Humanities, Languages and Social Science students are looking for an exciting way to celebrate the end of the summer term, then why not buy a ticket for the fantastic HLSS 2015 End of Year Ball?
This year the ball takes place on Thursday 28th May in the beautiful surroundings of the Palace Hotel on Oxford Road. Tickets are just £38 per person and included in the price are a drinks reception on arrival, a delicious three course meal (with vegetarian options available), cooked by the hotel’s renowned catering team, and half a bottle of wine or a non-alcoholic alternative each. If that’s not enough, each party-goer will also be entered into a fantastic free prize draw, last year’s prizes having included treats such as iPads, gift vouchers and even a luxurious overnight stay for two at the hotel.
After the meal, students and staff will be treated to a fun-filled evening of live music, entertainment and dancing, with a DJ on hand to play everyone’s favourite tunes until late into the night. Photographers will capture the event and guests will have the opportunity to have pictures taken with their friends in a photo-booth. For any all-nighters whose feet are not aching from so much dancing, the fun will continue at an after-party in a local bar until the early hours.
The End of Year Ball is a fantastic opportunity for students to let their hair down and celebrate all their hard work throughout the academic year. It is also a great way to say goodbye to friends going home for the summer and to make some very special memories of university life.
Tickets are on sale until 10th May and can be bought using a credit or debit card online here. Tickets can also be purchased via Met Card at the Finance Office in the Righton Building on Cavendish Street. To buy with a Met Card, students must fill in a slip which can be downloaded here. Slips can also be obtained from the Finance Office or the Geoffrey Manton Building Student Hub and Enrichment Board.
Alternatively, tickets and slips can be purchased or collected in person in the atrium of Geoffrey Manton where staff from the Enrichment Office will be on hand to answer any questions from 20th April until 1st May between 11am and 3pm. Students who have previously ordered tickets can also collect them during these times. Dress code for the event is formal.
