This summer, Manchester Children’s Book Festival (MCBF2015) will be back and bigger than ever. The return of the festival also sees the exciting return of the International Reading and Writing Relay Blog. As a host of children’s authors and entertainers prepare to take over the city, this is your chance to get involved early and make your mark on this truly unique event.
The MCBF2015 team are looking for your stories, book reviews, photos, poems – simply anything and everything to do with your favourite children’s books! By taking part in the blog you will be joining hundreds of other people from around the world – including famous children’s authors – to make the build up to MCBF2015 really special.
Festival Director and Manager of the Manchester Writing School, James Draper, told us,
“A major aim of the Manchester Children’s Book Festival is to engage children with literature in an inspiring and interactive way. The Reading and Writing Relay is a great way for anyone, of any age, to get involved. We would like to see parents and schools encouraging children to blog and share what they find most exciting and rewarding about the books they’re reading. We also hope that readers will be motivated to write their own stories, poems and plays, and will pass these on to other readers and writers through the relay.”
With great prizes on offer for the best blog posts and the opportunity to have your work seen by a global audience, this is the perfect opportunity to pick up the baton and celebrate your love for reading and writing.
