Society Spotlight: Life Drawing Society

0 331

As the new semester gets underway and Fresher Week starts to feel like a distant memory, we’re keen to shine a light on student societies and how you can get involved.

Joining a student society is one of the best ways to make new friends and relax after your studies. There are tons of great societies to choose from at Manchester Met and aAh! will be highlighting some of our favourites.

We caught up with MMU Life Drawing Society to learn more about what they do and how you can get involved.

Tell us about your society

We host casual and friendly life drawing sessions every other week on campus. We aim to make our sessions accessible to people of all skill levels, so if you would like to make some arty friends and improve your drawings then come along! The sessions are a great opportunity to refine your drawing skills in a relaxed and supportive environment and it’s great to be surrounded by like-minded people with shared enthusiasm.

When and where do you meet?

We meet every other Wednesday from 4:30-6:30pm on campus and updates about what room we will be in for each session are shared on our Instagram.

When were you founded?

We recently revamped earlier this year after the society took a hiatus due to the pandemic, so we’re new!

What is your most popular event?

Our sessions!

What is your next event?

Our next regular session will take place on Wednesday 8th November from 4:30pm.

Anything else you want students to know about your society?

We understand it can be a little daunting at first, but life drawing is a really fun and unique experience that we hope you will join us for.

Where can students learn more?

Check us out on Instagram @lifedrawingmmu for regular updates from our terrific social secretary, Sarah, or get in touch via email at lifedrawingmmu@gmail.com. Society membership is £7 for a year and gives you the opportunity to get session tickets at a reduced price and this can be purchased on the Student Union website.
