RY X headlined Manchester’s historic New Century Hall on Tuesday night, touring his newest album Blood Moon.
The transcendental Australian singer-songwriter’s versatile wistful and lofty sound filled the hall as he appeared from a cloud of smoke, opening the night with ‘Sweat’, from his debut album Dawn. Fans were no doubt delighted as they sang along to every word, putting on their very own performance. The set continued with a range of fan-favourites, old and new, with ‘Let You Go’, ‘YaYaYa’ and ‘Oceans’. RY X’s performance was brutally beautiful to witness live.
RY X’s latest album, Blood Moon, was released in August 2022 coinciding with his collaboration with Drake. RY X featured on Drake’s album Honestly, Nevermind, with a sample from an unreleased song featured on track ‘Sticky’.
While RY X’s UK tour was short, with only one night in Manchester and two sold-out shows in London, we’re positive we haven’t seen the last of this folktronica star.
