The Freshers Issue: Call for Featured Submissions – NEON CITY

0 401

In each print issue, aAh! Magazine interrogates one word which runs as a theme throughout our published submissions. This time, we’re changing things up as we introduce aAh! The FRESHERS Issue and launch our Featured Artist brief ‘NEON CITY’.

This special mini issue of aAh! will feature a guide to all Manchester has to offer. We will shine a spotlight on the freshest spots in our city and serve up budget-friendly recipes, share advice, opportunities and experiences.

Packed with tips and tricks to help new and returning students navigate university life, The FRESHERS Issue will be essential reading for all looking to get the most of their time studying in the best city in the world.

And in honour of our freshest issue yet, what theme should we explore in this bright new addition? NEON CITY! (We think you’ll agree that’s pretty fresh).

NEON CITY encapsulates the energy, power and vibrancy of our magical metropolitan community. Inspired by the style and vigour of our distinctive student scene, it evokes the creativity and curiosity we thrive on at aAh!

However, this NEON CITY can’t be powered by one bulb alone, which is why we need bright sparks to share their work so we can shine a spotlight on talented visual artists in our community.

We are looking for submissions which celebrate or explore the uniqueness of our community and city, day or night. Share your boldest pieces and join us in lighting up our community as part of our NEON CITY brief.

Featured Artist Brief – NEON CITY

We invite student artists to submit up to ten images to be considered for publication in our latest print magazine. Fine artists of all practices welcome, illustrators, photographers and graphic designers. Send us a brief bio and explanation of how your work relates to the theme NEON CITY.
