80,000 music fans will descend on Heaton Park for the two-day festival, which has been going on since 2010. This year’s line-up includes remarkable names and a variety of music genres, following the high-quality standards of previous year’s installments. Across its multiple stages, performances will include New Orleans’ R&B star, Frank Ocean, pop-band the 1975, George Ezra, Giggs, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, Fatboy Slim, Boy Better Know, Run The Jewels, Two Door Cinema Club, Stormzy, London Grammar among many others. The event is set to start at 11am on Saturday and 12pm on Sunday, finishing at 11pm on both days.

Security
In the wake of the tragic events at Manchester Arena, there was some hesitation about attending an event as big as Park Life. However, on the 23rd of May, the festival’s organisers released an official statement via Twitter informing they would go ahead as planned and promising that they were working in liaison with the local authorities.
Most recently, another official statement was released on the Facebook site, again mentioning the efforts to guarantee the public’s safety: “Extra measures have been put in place, to ensure you have an incredible weekend. It may take slightly longer to queue. But this is for your benefit. Try to arrive slightly earlier.”
It was also mentioned that a tribute to the victims of the attack will be paid and that any attendee feeling unwell can seek assistant with the nearest staff member.

Transport
Transport bosses are urging attendees to plan transport ahead the weekend and use the public transport to get to and from the venue. Metrolink and special shuttles from the city centre are recommended (Special Park Life travel passes have been issued for attendees). There will be limited on-site parking during the weekend as there are no dedicated facilities.
As expected, congestion on the region’s motorways is likely to happen, especially on the M60, which borders the park. The A576 Middleton Road alongside Heaton Park from junction 19 of the M60 will be closed between 8 pm and 2 am all the weekend.
Weather
Manchester’s weather doesn’t look very promising, as (according to the Met Office) it will be rainy and cloudy on Saturday. However, the sun might come out near the end of the afternoon with temperature raising up to 19°C.
Sunday will be less rainy, with just a 30% chance of rain during the morning. After that, Heaton Park will remain cloudy with a temperature around 18°C.
