Manchester’s King Street Festival returns on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th June, bringing live music, art, food, games and a host of exclusive in-store events to the city’s iconic street.

The festival, coordinated by Manchester’s Business Improvement District (BID), on behalf of city centre retailers, will see King Street’s premium stores, restaurants and hotels come together to host a fun weekend, offering al fresco dining, exclusive in-store events and complimentary gifts alongside free fizz and tastings.

Activities to enjoy this year include an art garden, street sketching workshops, lawn games and a crazy golf course. There will also be pop up gardens and pizza making and the festival’s bandstand will return to showcase the best blues, swing and jazz bands in town.

The street’s stores will be offering a whole host of discounts and giveaways throughout the weekend, including a caricature artist, a prosecco bar, complimentary cupcakes and limited edition canvas tote bags at DKNY, free skincare consulations and makeovers all weekend at The Body Shop, and 20% off a cut and colour and luxury moisture-boosting treatments at Vidal Sassoon.

If it’s food and drink you are after, there’s lots to choose from, including ice-cream, cake and cocktails. Entertainment will be provided by gospel singers Voices Beyond, 1940s-style girl group Bobbysocks, the teenagejazz singer and pianist Harvey Brittain, retro festival favourites Dr. Butler’s Medicine Hatstand Band, the raucous folk tunes of the Rubber Duck Orchestra, and the speakeasy hot jazz and blues of 52 Skidoo.
