Winner of a British Independent Film Award (BIFA), American Honey, starring Shia LeBeouf, will be showing at Odeon Printworks this Sunday 11th December. The film forms part of the BIFA Independents series, a brand new series of year- round screenings of BIFA winners and nominees.
Manchester Met student and local BIFA Champion George Haigh said, “I wanted to get in touch with students to tell them about BIFA INDEPENDENTS. The series begins this Sunday and, each month after that, we’ll be bringing one of the best British independent films of the year to Odeon Printworks.”
American Honey won the Best British Independent Film award in 2016. The film stars Sasha Lane as Star, an adolescent girl from a troubled home who runs away with a travelling sales crew who drive across the American Midwest selling subscriptions door to door. Finding her feet in this gang of teenagers, she soon settles into the group’s lifestyle of hard-partying nights, law- bending days, and young love. The film also stars Shia LeBeouf as Jake.
Tickets start at just £5. For more information about the BIFA Independents series, visit the Odeon website.
