Singer/songwriter and former X Factor contestant Lucy Spraggan will be releasing her fourth album I Hope You Don’t Mind Me Writing… on 27th January, through her own label CTRL Records. Lucy was a contestant in the 2012 series of X Factor but had to leave partway through the live shows due to illness. Her career has since gone from strength to strength.
Lucy released her first record ‘Top Room At The Zoo’ in 2011, before appearing on X Factor with her track ‘Last Night’. The song reached Number 11 in the UK singles chart and the album entered the UK albums chart at Number 22.
After leaving the show, she returned to music the following year with her debut studio album Join The Club, which reached Number 7 in the UK albums chart. In 2015 she released her third album We Are, which charted in the UK Top 20 and reached Number 1 on the iTunes Singer Songwriter chart.
I Hope You Don’t Mind Me Writing is produced by Jon Maguire, formerly of Lilygreen & Maguire, and mastered by John Davies at Metropolis. The album features 13 tracks, including ‘Dear You’, a haunting, heart-wrenching piano ballad. Other stand out tracks include ‘Hey William’ and ‘Modern Day Frankenstein’. Fans who pre-order the album now can download the ’90s nostalgia filled ‘Freddo’s Aren’t 10p’ immediately.
