Manchester Band and friends of Humanity Hallows Tindrumm have today announced that they are set to release a new single very soon. The track, entitled ‘1864’, is due for release on 17th November and will be available on Soundcloud.
Tindrumm consist of Ryan, Pete, Jamie and Mat, who met at university where they all study music. The band have been together since 2015 and, since they began working as a group, have gone from performing in tiny local venues to headlining Salford’s Sacred Trinity Church earlier this year. Their name comes from a book called The Tin Drum by Gunter Grass.
Talking about the new single, Ryan told us, “1864 came about from my obsession with historical events and how numbers, such as dates, are assigned to them. When we grow up that’s how we are taught them and basically how we remember them. I also remember all the tall tales of Christopher Columbus being this great majestic adventurer, and finding out, later on in life, what absolute rubbish that was. It made me think and question a lot of other things I felt like I knew. It was just an idea I had about history, that I believe it’s important for us to ask ourselves, what if none of it is real?”
As well as the release of the new track, the band also have lots of other exciting ventures to look forward to in the coming months. On 1st Dec, Tindrumm will be once again playing the Sacred Trinity at the Trinitus Sounds III event, which aims to bring together some of the best and most exciting of Manchester’s up and coming bands.
They will also be releasing a special live video, recorded during their session for ‘1864’ at Blueprint studios. The video will be available in the new year. To find out more about the band and some treats they are promising over the Christmas period, follow them on Facebook.
