Manchester Metropolitan University has recently announced that tuition fees for its non-UK EU students are set to stay the same until the academic year 2018/19. The announcement follows concerns from students after the results of the recent EU Referendum during which the public voted to leave the European Union.
The decision means that, if a non-UK EU student begins a Manchester Met course up to and including September 2018, they will pay the same fees as a UK student.
The University’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education Professor Helen Laville said, “I’m delighted that we are in a position to be able to make this commitment to students from other parts of the European Union who are considering coming to study in Manchester.”
She added, “We appreciate that the UK’s decision to leave the European Union has generated a degree of uncertainty and are pleased to be able to offer this reassurance. Staff and students from all over the world make an important and valued contribution to our community and will always be welcome here.”
