After the success of the Complete University Guides ranking with Manchester Met rising more places than any other UK University, this year’s 2016 Guardian University guide showed the university is continuing to thrive.
Criminology and Modern Languages at Manchester Met have improved massively in the league tables, with Criminology now positioned above the University of Manchester, Nottingham Trent University, De Montfort University and Northumbria University.
Modern Languages have increased 18 places in the league tables from number 28 last year. Also rising is Philosophy, up 16 places to number 27 in the country, with English and Creative writing also showing a steady improvement of seven places up to 69. History has risen to 67, and Sociology placing 48, up six places from last year.
Manchester Met’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Malcolm Press said,
“At Manchester Metropolitan University, we are driven by ambition for our students. We offer them innovative and flexible degree programmes, including degree apprenticeships that will enable their success in a fast-paced and ever-changing world.”
He also revealed he was particularly happy about how the Guardian League Tables focus on the Student Experience, which emphasises how gratifying it is for the staff of the university to see their approaches succeeding
