Australian punk rock outfit The Chats have been on the scene since 2016 spreading what they describe as their ‘shed rock’ sound and have amassed a cult following ever since. Fans of the band turn up in force filling the Victoria Warehouse to enjoy their Manchester show.
Bringing hardcore punk to the people of Manchester, London-based band Rifle are the first to grace the stage. With attitude and an energetic stage presence, the band were always destined to be a crowd favourite, and they certainly deliver tonight. Lead singer Max Williams parades around the stage, showing off his glistening silver tooth and delivering roaring vocals throughout their set.
Fellow Aussie power pop band The Prize followed, bringing their diverse power pop sound. Drummer-vocalist Nadine Muller is the driving beat behind the band with guitarist-vocalist Carey Paterson leading the vocal harmonies with infectious tunes.
Headliners The Chats are relentless tonight, playing songs back-to-back – with minimal chat – keeping the high tempo that mirrors the band’s music.
The trio, led by lead singer and bass player Eamon Sandwith, rocks out with the crowd who follow every word, moshing to guitarist Josh Hardy’s electrifying solos.
