An exciting new streetwear store, Jutah Studios, has joined Afflecks, Manchester’s favourite shopping institution. The renowned indoor market, located in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, is famous for its wide variety of clothing that ranges from retro and vintage outfits, to alternative styles, and has recently welcomed Jutah co-founders Emile Kulis and Connie Page to the fold.

Jutah Studios is open to the public on the second floor of Afflecks, showcasing quality street wear to young men interested in international brands that do not previously have a showing in the UK.  Page told Humanity Hallows, “Afflecks is very independent and people love the area, perfectly placed in the Northern Quarter.”

Not only will Jutah Studios attract young shoppers, but the team will expect immense attention due to the reputation Afflecks currently has. With many styles attracting students, the store have guaranteed reasonable prices that shoppers can work around their budget. However, they also aim to pique the interest of artists, musicians and producers, who have an ardour for fashion. Whether it is merely for a browse or to ask a few questions about their clothing line, Jutah Studios welcomes everyone in Manchester to their new store.

While discussing her views on the fashion industry, Page emphasised how criticism is valuable, especially when opening a new outlet, saying that any store, “can improve, as there is lots of controversy going on about brands and new people starting their own brands.”

The store not only demonstrates Jutah’s will to support those who work hard on design, but also reminds its audience that a unique, flamboyant style is part of who you are. Being a small store offering lesser known brands to men, it can be a challenge competing with large, eminent designers. Nonetheless, Page disagreed that the higher the price means the higher the quality: “Big brands have definitely affected us and may be the end of true fashion, it is important to come to a store like ours to support lesser known brands.”

The new store in process of developing a gender neutral campaign, as the company feel strongly that their apparel suits both men and women. Jutah understands the significance of confidence and being comfortable in whatever you chose to wear.

Jutah Studios have the potential to inspire young individuals in being more open in expressing themselves, bringing in a new brand, Dolly Noire, which includes remarkable graphics influenced by Dante’s Inferno. Page described Dolly Noire as, “High quality and inspiring, they are all about being yourself and inspiring others following their dreams.”

Regarding advice to young people experiencing discomfort in what they wear, Page recommended the pressure be lifted, as most people find their own style eventually. “Be true to yourself. Talk to the correct people about it, come into our store and talk to us about what you like and how you are feeling.”

She added, “Shops have a responsibility to make customers feel welcome and comfortable in clothing.”

Jutah Studios believe that clothes reflect personality, and are on a mission to ensure that every individual feels at home in what they wear. As Page said,  “If there is any part of you that would like to undercut the big corporations, then come down and say hello.”
